Christmas Closing

Auburndale Library will be opened from 10am to 1 pm on Christmas Eve, December 24th and closed on December 25th. We will open again on Wednesday, December 26th at regular hours, 10am - 6pm.

Computers are Fixed!

When opening PDF files, the Chinese Abapi Reader no longer opens it automatically. Adobe Reader is now the main default program for PDFs. Printing is functioning properly.

Summer Reading Kick off!

Welcome to June and fun-filled days awaits you!

  • June 7th marks the kick off to Summer Reading 2007! Sign up today and choose Auburndale Library as your library when you sign up! Open to babies, kids, teens, and adults. Yes, adults!
  • June 7th - In celebration of Brooklyn-Queens Day, the Museum of Natural History is visiting us with their moveable museum outside by the curb at 11am! Discover the Universe with us! (Grades up to 8)
  • June 12th - The Queens Zoo is visiting us! Birds of a Feather is a program where ages 6 through 9 examine and compare feathers. Go home with a handmade bird puppet!
  • June 16th - Specialist Lan Fen Lin will be visiting Auburndale to demonstrate her technique of Chinese Paper Cutting. Follow her and make your own!
  • June 30th - Helen Legotti is back and ready to read your future. Listen to her talk about her sixth sense and what she knows about you without really knowing you.... (spooky)
  • Don't forget about monthly programs such as: Anime Club, Arts and Crafts Wednesdays, Adult Book Club, Computer Lessons, TLC, and Picture Book Time.

BOOST!

BOOST has upgraded to a new version here at Auburndale!

  • Book Buddies program is now in session! From Monday through Thursday, a high school volunteer can read with your child together to improve his/her reading skills! (Mon 3:30-; Tue 4:30-; Wed 4:30-; Thu 3:30-)
  • Arts and Crafts Wednesdays! Wednesdays will be an opportunity for your child to experiment with markers, crayons, and origami paper! (3:30-4:30)
  • Chess and Games Fridays! Friday is no longer just for Chess, you can play Scrabble and Checkers too! Join the fun! (3:30-5:30)

Comment Season!

Hi Everyone,

I would like to take this post to ask the public how they feel about our library, programs, and services. Questions, comments, suggestions are highly welcome. Feel free to click on the comment link below and voice your opinion.

Things you might have already know but we would like to mention again:

  • Auburndale Library is open on Saturdays now.
  • Auburndale Library has wifi internet access now. You will need your library card number/PIN and a full battery because you can't use our outlets.
  • You can print up to 20 pages from the computer per day.
  • The borrowing limit for video is now 10.

Happy New Year from Auburndale Library! Here's what's been happening:

  • Auburndale Library offers workstation tutorials every Friday mornings now. Adults
  • Chess Club Fridays welcome Chessmaster, Paul Landau! Kids and Teens
  • Anime Club has a new name now, Shiranai Anime, and meets this Saturday(and every other Saturday following). Teens
  • PSAT Preparation Workshop starts this Thursday! Teens
  • We'll be closed on January 15th for Martin Luther King Day. Everyone
